Meilynn Smith is a wildlife and freelance photographer based in the Pacific Northwest.
She is a current student of biology and anthropology at Grinnell College, where she serves as a photojournalist for the award-winning student-run newspaper, The Scarlet & Black.
Meilynn recently returned from a semester abroad at the Center for Rainforest Studies through The School for Field Studies in the Wet Tropics of Queensland, Australia.
In 2024, Meilynn was awarded Best Print/Online Feature Photo from the Iowa College Media Association. Awards also included third in Best Print/Online Sports Photo.
When not taking photos, you can find her hiking in the Pacific Northwest and hanging out with friends and family.
